Pitch behaved differently in second half: MS Dhoni

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday blamed the change in behaviour of the Chepauk strip in the second half as the reason for home team's one-run loss to New Zealand in the second T20 International today.
"The wicket slowed down and it was difficult to hit. It's among the bigger grounds. It was holding up not like all the balls have same bounce. In the end it became quite difficult. But we should have won this game," Dhoni, who scored a sedate 23-ball-22 said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
"Our worry was how the wicket would behave in the second half. This is one area where we were expecting the wicket to be the same. After the 10th or 12th over, it got tough. Had it remained the way it was in the first half, we would have fancied our chances," he said.

Team is ready for the grueling season: Dhoni

16 August 2012

Team India is all set to wear the tricolor as Nike, who are the Board of Control for Cricket in India's kit sponsor, unveiled the Indian team's first specialist T20 jersey.
From now onward white Jersey are indisputably linked to Test cricket, and blue Jersey is for the 50-over match, the Indian team now has a shirt specifically for the T20 format.
The critical difference, apart from the visual, in this jersey, which is made from the equivalent of eight P. E. T bottles, is that it's 45% lighter than the kit the Indian team has been wearing thus far.

Indian skipper M S Dhoni was welcoming of the new shirt. Dhoni is also upbeat about upcoming ICC World T20 in Srilanka and said "We've had nearly a month and a half off and even when we played in Sri Lanka recently we have enough gaps between matches."

The biggest support was seen for Yuvraj Singh, who will make his comeback with first T20 against New Zealand at Vishakhapatnam on September 8.

Star Batsman Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and Irfan Pathan were the others who showed off the new tricolors jersey, and Yuvraj showed that he had recovered sufficiently from his Cancer to get up to his old tricks.
