Sony Mobile has started the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich roll-out for the Xperia P in India. With the Ice Cream Sandwich update the Xperia P gets all the new features Google added in ICS like resizable widgets, mobile data consumption monitor and a new multitasking menu. Additionally, Sony has updated its core software functionality with an improved lock–screen and an improved Walkman music player app.
As always, the update is not an OTA, but has to be enabled via a manual sync. The smartphone can be updated via the PC Companion software on a Windows machine and on a Mac it can be updated via Mac Bridge software.
Sony mobile has stated the Xperia Go, the Xperia Sola and the Xperia U are next up for an Ice Cream Sandwich update.
