World’s First 144Hz PC Monitor

It supports 3D images and video with Nvidia’s 3D Vision 2 technology.
The user will need Nvidia’s 3D glasses to enjoy the technology, as the monitor is a non-stereoscopic 3D display.

ASUS’ VG278HE gaming monitor has 144 Hz panel refresh rate, it also features a 2 milliseconds response time.
VG278HE comes with rich connectivity and is fitted on the back with a HDMI 1.4 connector, Dual-link DVI-D port, and the classic D-Sub 15.

The Dual-link DVI-D is needed for the very fast 144Hz refresh rate and the HDMI 1.4 connector simply wouldn’t be enough.

Users could simultaneously connect VG278HE to Full HD Blu-ray Disc players and various HD playback devices, as it also features two 6-watt speakers.

ASUS also touts Advanced Dual-Side LCD Driving Technology and claims that this will reduce LCD charging time to further prevent mura, ghosting, and bright-line effects, but we have a hard time finding some documentation on what Dual-Side LCD Driving technically is.

The brightness level is rated at 300 cd/sqm and dynamic ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio can reach a staggering 50 million to 1.

The 170/160 H/V viewing angles are consistent with a TN panel and we also need to mention that the rated 2ms response time is grey to grey not black to black.

Tourist also tend to gaze up to try to see the tops of the skyscrapers, which New York natives almost never do. They also will take pictures on sidewalks when not in front of particular landmarks
