New Karbonn phone brings Dolby Digital sound to your handset


Karbonn Mobiles have announced a tie up with Dolby Laboratories Inc. to deliver Dolby Sound to their upcoming range of mobile phones.
Tech2in reported that the first phone to include this feature will be the Karbonn KT81 which will deliver a better listening experience for those who listen to music and watch video clips in their mobile phones.

Speaking on the collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles told Tech2in, “Through our association we intend to provide our consumers listening experience which is niche’ yet affordable and brings to them top of the line music bouquet.”
The Karbonn KT81 will be the first in a series of phones that will come with the Dolby Mobile Experience.
Dolby Digital was first used to provide digital sound in cinemas from 35mm film prints. It is now also used for other applications such as HDTV broadcast, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and game consoles.
Some interesting Dolby Trivia: Batman Returns was the first film to use Dolby Digital technology when it premiered in theaters in Summer 1992!
